Language Requirements for international applicants
Study programs in German
To get admission to study programs in Germany all international students will have to prove adequate language skills in German. For all degree programs Pforzheim University requires German language skills on the level of C1 (within the European framework of language qualifications). A summary of the German language tests that fits for university admission you will find at the Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Laender in the Federal Republic of German. Among these tests you may find:
- Stufe II des Deutschen Sprachdiploms der Kultusministerkonferenz
- Deutsche Sprachprüfung fuer den Hochschulzugang DSH
- Test "Deutsch als Fremdsprache TESTDAF"
- Prüfungsteil "Deutsch" der Feststellungsprüfung
Also the "C2 Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom" of the Goethe Institutes and the language test "telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule" (but this one only) is recognized for admission. In addition most of the German Schools abroad (Deutsche Schulen im Ausland) may have language skills/tests and agreements for the recognition of their level of German as adequate for admission.
Study programs in English
For all study programs in English the Pforzheim University requires adequate language skills in English. Candidate should prove sufficient language skills in English via an international recognised test like the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A TOEFL score of around 90 (235 computer version and above 570 paper version) meets the entry requirement. We also accept TOEIC, IELTS, CAEL, CPE and CAE scores that we may convert (please find the list of English tests and the respective conversion of scores).
